Makes our little guy smile!

We got this for our son a few months ago when he was about 11 months old. He loved it from the start and still loves banging around on it now at 14 months. He can't assemble any of the figures, but he still loves standing at the table and touching everything and banging the tools around.

High quality and great for imaginative play

This is one of the absolute best toys we bought our daughter. She has had it since birthday and plays with it for long periods of time all the time. She's almost 3 and can easily work the pieces that come with this. We get imaginative with what we build and craft and she loves that she now can use the tools like we do.
The quality of the wood is very nice, no rough spots at all. It is easier to put together. The tool holders are great because they keep it organized and I think in turn that also helps to keep her interest in the toy as it's all there and ready to go each time she wants to play. The ballet on the bottom is great for storing the different screw, etc when not using.
I would very highly recommend this to anyone with kids as you will get your money's worth.

High quality toy work bench and tools.

I couldn't be happier with this bench. My 2 year old son loves it. The little wooden "erector set" pieces are too advanced for him for now, so I put them away. I bought him the little $13 tool box and tool set as well, and for now he's just playing with those on the bench. The table top of the bench is getting pretty banged up already, but that's to be expected with a 2 year old swinging a hammer at it. Directions for assembling the bench are pretty poor. You have to look at the picures carefully and keep the bench in a consistent orientation as you assemble at it goes together pretty easily. My only other gripe is this... the little wooden nuts and bolts for the bench don't match the nuts and bolts for the tool box set. Not worth removing a star. Really nice set. Solid construction. I recommend it for any little boy or girl who likes tools.

Winning Christmas present for dad & grandson assembly & playtime

Bought this workbench for our 18-mo grandson for his birthday. Our son was kind of dreading assembly of the unit, hence waited a few days after Christmas to do so. Turns out dad and toddler had a fun time assembling together, and grandson has already mastered identification and proper usage of hammer (both hammering and removing “nails”), screwdriver, wrench, and saw. All pieces went together well, and work as they should. The tot loves playing with the set, though at his age, mastery still requires adult involvement. I like that it focuses the child on fine motor skills, esp for those who tend to be gross motor kiddos :)
Very pleased with quality and value for the dollar.

great wood workbench

I bought this workbench for my 17 month-old son. I think this workbench is safe and suitable for younger kids with good hand dexterity. They probably won't be able to use right away all of the tools for the intended purpose (some abilities are not developed until age 2 or more), but kids can still have fun even if they do not take full advantage of the features of a toy (yet). This actually means the toy can "grow" with your child, which is always a plus. For example my 17 month-old son is not able to use the screwdriver to secure the screws into the bolts while holding the bolts on the other side of the wood panel (same "problem" that another reviewer's kid had), but still has lots of fun just pounding the screws with the hammer and spinning the sprockets.
Height is adjustable, bench is lightweight but sturdy, and the screws/nails and little tools keep my son entertained for a long time. The bottom shelf is very useful to store the wood pieces when not playing. Overall a happy customer!
